Expert advice on how to raise support from national donor advised funds and the Philanthropy Outlook for giving in 2018 and 2019 are among the knowledge designed to help nonprofits raise more money in the New Year that will be presented at The Fund Raising School’s Leadership Roundtable, Jan. 25-26, 2018, in Miami. Nonprofit leaders, fundraisers and foundation executives will hear and discuss projections about charitable giving, the newest research on philanthropy and fundraising, and insights on leading-edge issues from national philanthropy experts during this interactive seminar.

The Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IU Indianapolis have been selected as the inaugural hosts of the Ford Foundation–funded ARNOVA-AROCSA NGO Leadership Transition Fellowship Program (LTFP) in Africa. The fellowship will allow 10 senior NGO leaders from Southern and West Africa to spend the spring 2018 semester in Indianapolis engaged with faculty in philanthropic studies and nonprofit management as well as civically engaged Hoosiers.

Women make up the majority of donors on #GivingTuesday, according to new research by the Women’s Philanthropy Institute released today. In an analysis of charitable giving records over 20 months, researchers found that while women represented 51 percent of overall donations made during that period, they contributed 63 percent of the total number of donations on #GivingTuesday 2016.

Jane Chu, Ph.D. ’12, has been named the recipient of the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy’s 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award. The 11th chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, Chu has a strong background in philanthropy and in arts administration. Throughout her professional career, she has served in leadership positions in a number of philanthropic institutions, including organizations committed to strengthening the arts, culture and local communities.

Kellogg Foundation, passed away on October 20 at the age of 89.
