M.A. in Philanthropic Studies

Why pursue a Master of Arts in Philanthropy?

Whether you are a recent graduate, a nonprofit professional, or looking to pivot your career toward social impact, an M.A. in Philanthropy is a professional game-changer. While many programs focus on the management of a nonprofit, our curriculum digs deeper into the why of philanthropy. We provide a comprehensive lens on the sector, exploring the history, theory, and real-world application of philanthropy in the United States and beyond.

Our master of arts program is available in-person, virtual, or in a hybrid format. All formats provide opportunities to connect with a wide range of peers in meaningful ways. Our graduates advance their careers with the deeper knowledge they gain and a network of mentors and strategists who will support their leadership journey for years to come.

Many of our master’s program students choose to start by earning a graduate certificate in philanthropic studies or philanthropic fundraising. These certificates take a year for a part-time student to complete.
