The Joseph and Matthew Payton Philanthropic Studies Library houses the largest collection of sources on philanthropy at a university. A legacy to philanthropy pioneer Robert “Bob” Payton and named for his two sons, the library is housed within University Library on the IU Indianapolis campus.
The primary mission of the Philanthropic Studies Library is to support the educational and research programs relating to philanthropic studies and nonprofit management at Indiana University.
The philanthropy collections and archives consist of research materials including books, audio and video materials, specialized periodicals in the nonprofit and philanthropic fields, and dissertations.
