Shinyoung Park

Shinyoung Park is a Ph.D. candidate at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, with a minor in economics. Her research centers on the motivations behind philanthropic behavior, donors’ perceptions of nonprofit performance, and the use of lab and field experiments to examine giving behavior. Her dissertation investigates the role of empathy and morality in counteracting non-neutrality in contributions to poverty alleviation organizations and support for welfare policies.
Shinyoung has extensive experience teaching philanthropy, nonprofit financial management, data literacy, and the application of economic theory and analytical tools in the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining the school, she earned a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Administration. She also brings professional experience in consulting, policy analysis, program evaluation, and grant management, having worked with government and nonprofit organizations in both South Korea and the United States.
