Introduction to Effective Digital Fundraising

Nonprofit organizations have the opportunity to leverage a wide range of digital strategies to enhance their fundraising abilities and achieve greater impact. This course is designed to introduce you to the knowledge and skills needed to navigate and utilize these digital strategies effectively. You will explore innovative digital fundraising techniques that can expand your organization's reach, engage supporters, and generate increased support. By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and skills to begin leveraging a range of digital strategies to expand your organization's fundraising abilities.

Schedule

The live, virtual class is held over four sessions from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern and hosted using the Zoom platform.

The August 26-September 16, 2025 virtual class will be held on the following dates:

Session 1: Tuesday, August 26, 2025
Session 2: Tuesday, September 2, 2025
Session 3: Tuesday, September 9, 2025
Session 4: Tuesday, September 16, 2025

The January 29-February 19, 2026 virtual class will be held on the following dates:

Session 1: Thursday, January 29, 2026
Session 2: Thursday, February 5, 2026
Session 3: Thursday, February 12, 2026
Session 4: Thursday, February 19, 2026

The April 16-May 7, 2026 virtual class will be held on the following dates:

Session 1: Thursday, April 16, 2026
Session 2: Thursday, April 23, 2026
Session 3: Thursday, April 30, 2026
Session 4: Thursday, May 7, 2026

Objectives

  • Understand the role and significance of digital strategies in expanding fundraising abilities for nonprofit organizations.
  • Recognize various digital fundraising techniques, such as social media fundraising, email, website, influencer partnerships, and cause-related marketing.
  • Gain insights into identifying and engaging with influential individuals who align with your cause and can support your fundraising efforts through strategic partnerships.
  • Develop strategies for creating compelling and persuasive digital fundraising campaigns that resonate with your target audience and inspire them to take action.
  • Understand the ethical considerations and legal implications associated with digital fundraising strategies, including data privacy, transparency, and compliance with fundraising regulations.
  • Recognize the role that generative AI can play in your digital fundraising efforts.
  • Apply the knowledge gained throughout the course to begin developing a digital fundraising strategy that incorporates innovative techniques and aligns with your organization's goals and mission.

CFRE Education Points

Full participation in many of The Fund Raising School’s courses fulfill education point requirements for Category 1.B-Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
