Richard Trollinger, who joined Centre in 1994, has more than 40 years of experience in college advancement work. Having retired in 2016 after more than two decades as the college’s chief development officer, he now serves in a part-time capacity as senior philanthropy advisor.
Richard was the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy’s 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. Trollinger began his educational career in 1971 at Emory & Henry College, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in religion and economics. He then went on to receive a M.ED. from Vanderbilt University in 1998, where he graduated with a higher education administration degree, with a concentration in institutional advancement. In 2002, Trollinger attended the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, where he received his master’s in philanthropic studies. He also received his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in studies in higher education in 2009.
Trollinger is a member of the Danville Rotary Club and the Presbyterian Church of Danville. He served as a chair of the Kentucky School for the Deaf Charitable Foundation and as a board member for the Wilderness Trace Child Development Center and the Heart of Kentucky United Way.
