Dr. Richard Gunderman, noted Indiana University professor and physician and author of We Make a Life by What We Give, will explore how education’s shared journey to understanding ourselves and the world is one of the most powerful opportunities to give and to pursue fulfilling lives serving others.
In his remarks, “The Undiminished Flame: Education, Giving and the Quest for Faith,” Gunderman will discuss how intangible gifts such as knowledge and education grow through giving, and how the gift of education shapes our view of the world and the lives we are called to lead.Gunderman is Professor of Philanthropic Studies, Radiology, Pediatrics, Medical Education, Philosophy and Liberal Arts at Indiana University.
The lecture will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 5:00 p.m., followed by a reception and book signing at 6:00 p.m. Both events will be at the University Place Conference Center + Hotel, 850 W.
