See what grads say about their time at the school

Description of the video:

1
00:00:12,012 --> 00:00:15,306
It's been four years in the making,
so I'm excited to be done.

2
00:00:15,390 --> 00:00:17,767
Bittersweet,
though. It's been a wonderful experience.

3
00:00:17,767 --> 00:00:20,603
My time at the school philanthropy
has been pretty transformative.

4
00:00:20,603 --> 00:00:22,063
I feel like the doors have been opened

5
00:00:22,063 --> 00:00:26,026
to a world of possibilities
and exciting things for my future.

6
00:00:26,026 --> 00:00:28,319
today kind of marks a day
where I get to go out into the world

7
00:00:28,319 --> 00:00:30,864
and figure out how I can make it
a better place.

8
00:00:30,864 --> 00:00:35,910
I've just loved learning
more about the studies about philanthropy.

9
00:00:35,994 --> 00:00:37,287
Seeing some of the data

10
00:00:37,287 --> 00:00:41,041
and being challenged by the professors
at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy

11
00:00:41,124 --> 00:00:43,710
The school has been so supportive
and wonderful to its students,

12
00:00:43,710 --> 00:00:48,089
the faculty staff connecting us
to the right corporations to partner with.

13
00:00:48,298 --> 00:00:50,592
If you're someone in a full time role
like this myself, it's

14
00:00:50,592 --> 00:00:51,718
its been pretty amazing

15
00:00:51,718 --> 00:00:55,555
I've developed a love for learning
that I didn't know that I had before.

16
00:00:55,638 --> 00:00:58,641
I'm excited for the adventures to come.

17
00:00:58,892 --> 00:01:02,812
two years ago when I started this program,
I didn't really know what philanthropy was.

18
00:01:03,104 --> 00:01:06,691
Philanthropy was a bunch of money
that rich people give to organizations.

19
00:01:06,691 --> 00:01:08,735
And in theory,
these organizations do good.

20
00:01:08,735 --> 00:01:11,738
But here at the school,
we learn to play to be so much more.

21
00:01:11,821 --> 00:01:12,655
Philanthropy is everything.

22
00:01:12,655 --> 00:01:14,282
As much as caring for your neighbor
all the way

23
00:01:14,282 --> 00:01:16,618
up to giving hundreds
of millions of dollars.

24
00:01:16,618 --> 00:01:20,622
And so what has been so transformational
about the experience here at the school

25
00:01:20,705 --> 00:01:24,042
is that it's broadened our horizons
for what it means to be philanthropic

26
00:01:24,125 --> 00:01:27,087
and how we can actually conduct
philanthropy in all of our different

27
00:01:27,087 --> 00:01:31,174
disciplines, all of our different career
paths and within our family life as well.

28
00:01:31,257 --> 00:01:32,926
It really helps us do our jobs better.

29
00:01:32,926 --> 00:01:36,846
I think this sector is vitally important to making the world a better place,

30
00:01:36,930 --> 00:01:38,848
and this school is helping us

31
00:01:38,848 --> 00:01:40,517
to be better at our jobs

32
00:01:40,517 --> 00:01:43,561
Everybody has one thing in common, they want to make a difference in the world.

33
00:01:43,561 --> 00:01:47,398
So it's really a privilege
to get to work here

34
00:01:47,398 --> 00:01:52,070
and celebrate all of our new graduates
and their families.

35
00:01:52,153 --> 00:01:56,574
it's one of our favorite days of the year.
