Tiffany Benjamin, an Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy Board of Visitors member and 2022–2023 Board of Visitors chair, has been named to TIME’s inaugural TIME100Philanthropy list. This prestigious recognition honors the 100 most influential people shaping the future of giving. The list highlights visionary leaders who are redefining generosity, driving impact, and inspiring change in communities around the world.
Time recognizes Benjamin for her vision and leadership to remove barriers in health care as the CEO of the Humana Foundation. She has streamlined the foundation’s giving strategy, which includes directing $15.2 million toward nonprofits focused on emotional health and nutrition for seniors and school-age children, and $6.75 million to the University of Louisville for research on health access. The foundation has also prioritized disaster relief, providing $1.5 million for recovery efforts and funding suicide prevention initiatives that have helped thousands of veterans. Additionally, Benjamin has revamped grantmaking by introducing multi-year grants and streamlining the application process.
