Women's Philanthropy Institute research sheds new light on gender differences in giving.

How gender differences in income affect where couples give, women's and men's differing motivations for giving, and who supports causes aimed at helping women and girls are among the issues addressed in new research being released by the Women's Philanthropy Institute. Findings from the study, which is funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will be presented at the Women Moving Millions Summit in New York today.

Reynold Levy

Internationally recognized philanthropy leader Reynold Levy will present a public lecture in Indianapolis September 28 under the auspices of the Stead Family Chair in International Philanthropy at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Levy recently completed a 13-year tenure as president of New York's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts during which he led the $1.2 billion transformation of the Manhattan landmark that is home to 11 world-class performing arts organizations and educational institutions, including The Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet and The Juilliard School.

Stead Medal in International Philanthropy

Charles F. "Chuck" Feeney, the international business leader and philanthropist who made a fortune worth billions and quietly gave it all away, is the inaugural recipient of a prestigious new award recognizing global generosity. Feeney is the first person to receive the Stead Medal in International Philanthropy awarded by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.

Edith Falk, Lilya Wagner

Edith Falk, co-founder of consulting firm Campbell + Company, and Lilya Wagner, director of Philanthropic Service for Institutions, will receive the Henry A. Rosso Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Ethical Fundraising from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at a dinner on October 29.

Amir Pasic, Eugene R. Tempel Dean, Lilly Family School of Philanthropy

IU Indianapolis Chancellor Charles R. Bantz has appointed Amir Pasic, dean of the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, as the first incumbent to hold the school's named, endowed deanship. Pasic's appointment as the Eugene R. Tempel Dean is effective immediately.

An international business leader with a passion for philanthropy will deliver the keynote address at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy's 2015 symposium, "Philanthropy and Fundraising: What We Know and What We Need to Know." The event will be held Oct. 30 in Indianapolis.

Elizabeth Dale

Elizabeth J. Dale, a doctoral candidate at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, is the recipient of the 2015 Women’s Philanthropy Institute (WPI) Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, WPI officials announced today. The award will help Dale complete her dissertation on the philanthropic practices of same-sex couples, including their motivations for giving and how couples make philanthropic decisions as part of the household economy.

The largest number of Philanthropic Studies students ever to graduate from Indiana University's Lilly Family School of Philanthropy will receive their degrees during IU Indianapolis's commencement ceremonies May 10. The 53 graduates comprise the third group of students to be graduated from the new school since its founding in 2012 and the largest since the 1987 founding of the school's predecessor, the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. The 2015 commencement also includes the most bachelor of arts degree graduates to date.
