John is one of two new IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy alumni to join The Patterson Foundation (TPF) in the second cohort of the TPF Fellows Program—part of an unprecedented partnership between TPF and the school. He will serve in this capacity for one year, then aspires to join a forward-thinking and innovative foundation as he continues to advance his philanthropic interests and career.
Previously, John was the engagement manager for Indiana United Ways, the state association serving all United Ways and United Funds throughout Indiana. He has served as a national officer and board member for his fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, in addition to multiple nonprofit boards over the past 20 years.
He was the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy’s 2016 Chancellor’s Scholar for his exemplary academic performance and extensive community involvement, including advocacy on behalf of the student population at IU Indianapolis and grassroots community organizing around peacebuilding and alleviating child hunger in Indianapolis’s poverty-stricken areas. John also interned with The Patachou Foundation helping lay the groundwork for expanding community service and increasing their overall impact.
