Biography
Amy Carroll Balcius grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Indiana University in 1994 with her Bachelor’s in English and Journalism with an Education Certification. As a student, Amy was a founding member of the IU Dance Marathon in 1991 and served on its Executive Council during its first three years. Today, IUDM is the second largest student-run philanthropy in the world, and has raised over $46 million for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Upon graduation from IU, Amy followed her passion for volunteerism by joining the US Peace Corps, where she served in Lithuania for almost four years.
Amy retired in the spring of 2021 as a Managing Director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC). She is currently on the Board of Managers for Riley Hospital for Children, and is an active member of IU’s Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Council (WPLC) and Society of Aeons. Amy enjoys spending time with her husband of almost 25 years and two children. Her favorite hobbies are traveling, cooking, reading and spending time with friends and family.
