The Black Women Give Back List spotlights the invaluable work and contributions of Black women philanthropists who are making the world a better place
In recognition of Black Philanthropy Month, the Women’s Philanthropy Institute (WPI) and The Women Invested to Save Earth Fund are seeking nominations for its third annual Black Women Give Back List, which features 10 incredible philanthropists who embrace diverse expressions of generosity to drive positive change around the world. The honorees will be featured on August 31, 2023 at Reunity, a virtual gathering that is part of the Black Philanthropy Month Global Summit Series. The nomination period opens today and will continue through June 30, 2023.
Black Philanthropy Month, observed every August, is a global celebration and concerted campaign to elevate African-descent giving and funding equity. In recognition of the abundance of generosity found within Black communities, the Black Women Give Back List honors the ways that women and girls make an impact by giving their time, talent, treasure, testimony and/or ties. The list aims to lift up stories of women and girls who are giving back in unique, inspiring ways that might encourage others to follow their lead. We hope to feature an ethnically diverse group of women and girls from different zip codes, countries and backgrounds.
Know someone who should be on the list? Submit nominations here by June 30, 2023. Self-nominations are welcome. Please note that our focus is on the quality, rather than the quantity, of submissions. The total number of entries will not influence the decision-making process.
