Buffett will be part of conversation exploring how women’s attitudes about money shape their charitable giving
INDIANAPOLIS—Jennifer Buffett, co-founder and president of the NoVo Foundation, is adding her voice to the online conference SHEMAKESCHANGE, sharing a transformational journey that shaped her views on money and philanthropy. Buffett is married to composer and producer Peter Buffett.
A highly regarded philanthropist, Jennifer Buffett’s work in philanthropy began in 1997 when Peter’s parents, Susan and Warren Buffett, gave Jennifer and Peter a charitable fund. Since 2006, Jennifer and the NoVo Foundation have concentrated on empowering women and girls as a strategy to end poverty, promoting healthy child development, and stopping gender-based violence in the United States and abroad.
Jennifer and Peter Buffett are recipients of the Clinton Global Citizen Award for their “visionary leadership and sustainable, scalable work in solving pressing global challenges,” and in 2010 President Clinton selected Jennifer to be a founding member of the Clinton Global Initiative’s young global leaders group, CGI LEAD. The Ms. Foundation for Women also honored Peter and Jennifer’s philanthropic boldness and commitment that year with a Gloria Steinem Award, and Barron’s ranks them in the top 25 list of most effective philanthropists.
