Tracy Ketchem, MPA
Tracy is currently the Senior Director of Campus College Programs and Chief Development Officer for University Enterprise Units at the University of Minnesota Foundation. Tracy is responsible for creating and leading comprehensive fundraising programs for the Office for Equity and Diversity, the Office for Student Affairs, the Office of Undergraduate Education and the University of Minnesota Alumni Association.
Before moving into this role, Tracy was the Campaign Director for the University of Minnesota’s $4 billion campaign, Driven. Tracy coordinated campaign strategies and activities between the Foundation and the University’s five campuses. Driven concluded having raised $4.4 billion. She previously served as the Director of Development, Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota Foundation. In this role, she developed a comprehensive fundraising program for neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases along with leading a volunteer board.
Before joining the University of Foundation, Tracy served as Executive Consultant to the Chairman for Institutional Development at the Cleveland Clinic. She developed strategies for the Clinic’s highest prospective donors, created fundraising-related materials including case statements and assisted with professional training and staff development. Prior to serving as a consultant for the Cleveland Clinic, Tracy was the Executive Director of Development for The Children’s Hospital at the Cleveland Clinic. In this role, she created and managed a unified fundraising program which included an annual fund, special events, major gifts, and special gifts for the division of pediatrics and The Children’s Hospital. She developed the plans for the Hospital’s $50 million initiative and established a volunteer leadership board.
Before joining Cleveland Clinic, Tracy served as the Associate Director of Development for The Cleveland Orchestra. During her time at the Orchestra, she managed three annual fund campaigns that generated $23.8 million. In addition to managing the Orchestra’s annual fund campaign, Tracy managed the Office of Development’s budget, volunteers, donor stewardship program, prospect management, and donor record keeping.
Upon relocating to Cleveland, Ohio, Tracy served as Director of Leadership Programs for the School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University where she served as a major gifts officer and created and managed the School’s stewardship program.
After completing graduate studies, Tracy joined the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra as their Donor Relations Associate. In her five years with the Orchestra, she also served as their Individual Gifts Manager, Annual Fund Manager, and Director of Individual Giving and Development Operations.
Tracy’s current volunteer focus is her son’s school and church.
Tracy earned a Masters of Public Affairs with a concentration in Nonprofit Administration from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs & The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. She earned a B.A. in Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin—La Crosse.
