Michele (Thomas) Dole, MS, CFP®
Ms. Dole is a recognized financial professional who brings a wealth of experience in estate planning, trusts, charitable planning, nonprofit management and investments. She has utilized that expertise as a frequent national and local speaker, consultant, teacher and facilitator on a variety of charitable and estate planning areas--as well as nonprofit matters, such as governance, fund raising and strategic planning.
She is currently a Senior Vice President & Senior Fiduciary Strategist at Key Private Bank, partnering with high-net-worth families to accomplish their trust, estate, gift, and charitable planning needs. Since 2003, Dole has also served as an adjunct faculty member for both The Fund Raising School and the Women’s Philanthropy Institute at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
She previously served as President and CEO of a foundation and was responsible for a team of professionals who raised financial support for a $3 billion non-profit healthcare system. Dole assumed this role after serving as a vice president with JPMorgan Private Bank for several years, where she managed client relationships. Her clients included individuals, families, foundations and endowments. As an investment advisor, she held FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses. She was a fund raising professional at the Indiana University Foundation where she raised funds for a $1 billion endowment campaign and also shared her professional leadership in two Girl Scout councils.
Dole lends her expertise through board and committee leadership with a variety of organizations. She currently is a board member for the Sisters of St. Benedict, Our Lady of Grace Monastery in Beech Grove, Indiana. Dole was a 17-year national operational volunteer for Girl Scouts of the USA, serving on the national fund development team.
She holds a B.S. in business management from the Krannert School at Purdue University and an M.S. in higher education administration from Indiana University. Dole is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and has also earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from DePaul University, which included postgraduate training in principles of financial planning, investments, insurance, income tax, retirement and estate planning.
Dole is a graduate of the year-long Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series (“Leadership Indianapolis”) and is a graduate of the year-long Indiana University Management Training Series. She has received numerous awards for her service to the community including the Purdue University President’s Council Distinguished Service Award, selection as an Inspiring Woman honoree by the Indiana Fever (WNBA), winner of Junior Achievement’s of Central Indiana Best and Brightest awards in the Education and Nonprofit category and recognition in the Indianapolis Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” business leaders. She is married to Robert J. Dole, III, and they reside in central Indiana.
