Linh Preston, MA, MPA
Linh Preston works in the nonprofit sector as a writer, fundraiser, and trainer. As a writer, Linh’s clients include smaller nonprofit organizations and family foundations, national membership associations, and fellow nonprofit consultants. She has been part of the writing and editing teams for The Kennedy Forum, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Women’s Philanthropy Institute at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and the Nonprofit Research Collaborative. She is honored to have worked for some of Indianapolis’s most prominent organizations, including the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, United Way of Central Indiana, Pacers Foundation, and the Central Indiana Community Foundation. She briefly stepped out of the nonprofit sector and served as the Chief of Staff for an industry-leading financial services firm.
Linh serves on the national board of directors for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and previously served on the national NAMI State Presidents Council for nearly six years, three as Second Vice Chair. For more than a decade, Linh has volunteered with NAMI Indiana. She is a NAMI In Our Own Voice presenter and state trainer and served on the board of directors for nearly ten years, four as its president.
She is a Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library Foundation board member and has volunteered on boards or committees for Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis, Indianapolis Public Library Foundation, Catch the Stars Foundation, and Pacers Foundation.
Linh holds an MA in Philanthropic Studies and an MPA in Nonprofit Management from Indiana University, as well as Certificates in Fundraising Management (CFRM) and Fundraising Leadership (CFRL) through The Fund Raising School at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She also has a BS in Communications from Bradley University.
