LaDaniel Gatling II
LaDaniel "Danny" Gatling II is an innovative and results-driven leader with over 22 years of experience helping organizations shape dynamic donor stewardship programs that secure new philanthropic partners and deepen engagement with existing donors across diverse channels, including complex, non-cash, deferred, and testamentary gifts.
Danny’s journey began as a major gift officer at North Carolina A&T State University, a formative experience that instilled his passion for identifying, cultivating, and securing long- term donor relationships. Most recently, Danny served as the Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations at Guilford College. He has also worked in positions of leadership at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Elon University School of Law and Bennett College.
Throughout his career in advancement, Danny has established a proven track record of strategic leadership and mastered the art of fostering collaboration among internal leaders, board members, and donor networks. Currently, as the founder and senior philanthropic advisor for GLK Philanthropy, a nonprofit consultancy located in Greensboro, NC, Danny uses his extensive experience to assist organizations seeking to build and lead high-performing teams that are tasked with achieving ambitious fundraising goals. He advises teams with developing major gift pipelines, executing strategic donor engagement programs, and constructing efficient operational workflows.
Gatling earned a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and a master’s degree in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University where he also serves on the alumni board. Gatling is active in the Greensboro community and is a family man who enjoys boating, cooking and F1 racing.
