Julie Teer
Julie Teer is a nationally recognized nonprofit, healthcare, and public affairs executive with deep experience leading complex organizations at scale. Her career spans senior leadership roles in healthcare systems, national nonprofits, and government, where she has built high-performing teams, transformed boards, and elevated institutions into positions of national influence.
Most recently, Julie served as Senior Vice President of Wellstar Health System and President of the Wellstar Foundation. In this role, she built the Foundation from the ground up and grew philanthropic revenue to $20 million annually. As a member of the systemwide executive leadership team, she helped guide a multi‑billion‑dollar health system through a period of significant change, including acquisitions, hospital closures, and enterprise-wide strategy development.
Previously, Julie was Chief Development and Public Affairs Officer at Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where she led a $584 million national campaign, scaled private philanthropy to more than $125 million annually, expanded the donor base more than one hundredfold, and built the organization’s government relations and advocacy platform, resulting in sustained growth in public funding. She also designed and implemented best‑in‑class board recruitment and engagement strategies.
Earlier in her career, Julie held senior leadership roles at Susan G. Komen for the Cure, working closely with founder Nancy Brinker to expand the organization’s global footprint, advance breast cancer research funding, and elevate policy and advocacy efforts worldwide. She began her career in national politics and later served as a Presidential Appointee to the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition.
Julie is known for her ability to lead at moments of inflection, align boards and stakeholders around bold vision, and translate mission into measurable impact at national scale.
