Christy Coulter is the owner, CEO, and head legacy planning consultant at Apex Legacy Consultants in St. Paul, MN. Christy and the Apex team specialize in planned giving strategy and helping donors imagine how they can align their values with their finances through legacy planning. Through this work, she's inspired donors to commit hundreds of millions of dollars to loved ones and their favorite causes.
Prior to her role at Apex, Christy spent about 10 years in leadership roles in the nonprofit sector. With a background in communications and strategic planning, she excels in leadership development, empowering teams, developing key business relationships, and fostering generosity.
In higher education, she helped launch an endowed scholarship by biking across the country alongside university donors, alumni, and staff; managed over 50 campus-wide student activities programs; supervised department staff; counseled over 100 students each semester; and trained faculty and staff to effectively serve students with disabilities. She also served as the institution's Section 504 and ADA Compliance Officer, leading efforts to transform the institutional culture by educating, advocating for, and raising awareness of inclusion and diversity.

Christy's undergraduate studies focused on psychology and communication, and she holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education.
