Caitie Deranek Stewart, M.A., M.P.A., C.F.R.E
With over a decade of fundraising experience spanning major gifts, campaign management, strategic planning, team management, annual giving, stewardship, volunteer management. and planned giving, Caitie Deranek Stewart has raised tens of millions of dollars in philanthropic support in her career. In her role as Senior Director of Development for the McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Florida, Caitie manages all aspects of philanthropy for one of the largest and most productive neuroscience research enterprises in the world.
Caitie specializes in building long-term relationships with donors through meaningful engagement opportunities and navigating complex systems to align the vision of donors with the organizations that can make them possible.
Community service has centered on areas of personal interest for Caitie including professionalism and excellence in the nonprofit sector (Young Nonprofit Professionals Network National and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Indiana Chapter), enriching musical experiences (Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and the Threshold Choir national), and the central Indiana community (United Way of Central Indiana).
Caitie’s professional career began at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in 2011. Her master’s degrees are in philanthropic studies and nonprofit management from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. Caitie achieved her undergraduate degrees from the University of Indianapolis in vocal performance and psychology. She earned her Certificate in Fundraising Management in 2012 and her Certified Fund Raising Executive designation in 2016. Caitie is a published author in Achieving Excellence in Fundraising 4th and 5th editions and Giving USA 2015.
In addition to her work as a professional fundraiser, Caitie is a private voice and piano teacher in Carmel, IN; a professional vocalist featured across Indiana and beyond; and the owner of At Your Door Productions, a holiday entertainment company.
