Shahed Amanullah is an entrepreneur, investor, and mentor for startups and non-profits serving American Muslim communities. He is the founder of Zabihah, the world's first global Halal restaurant discovery & delivery solution, which was acquired by River in 2025 where he currently serves on the leadership team. He is a co-founder of Affinis Labs, an award-winning social innovation working with innovators in emerging Muslim economies that was acquired by Frost Capital in 2019, and the founder of Altmuslim, an online newsmagazine that syndicated American Muslim voices that was acquired by Beliefnet in 2011. Shahed previously served as Senior Advisor for Technology at the US State Department under President Obama, Global VP of Marketing at market research firm Frost & Sullivan, and project manager at the World Bank. He has served on the board of over a dozen NGOs serving American Muslim communities including MPAC, Islamic Scholarship Fund, and the Muslim Public Service Network. Shahed has a BS in engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Georgetown University.
